Week 5 | Wednesday - Sowing and Reaping
The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.
2 CORINTHIANS 9:6, CSB
Throughout the Bible we find the principle of sowing and reaping. It’s a universal truth. And it’s something that can work for you or against you, depending on what you do. But Paul takes the principle a step further in 2 Corinthians 9:6. Not only will you reap what you sow, but the more you sow, the more you will reap. Here’s what that means: Do you want more of God’s blessing on your life? Then sow more seed!
Jesus said something similar in Luke 6:38 (NLT): “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
Listen, the Bible is not just referring to money here. When you give in any area of life, it puts God in a position to bless you for your act of obedience.
Now, we don’t give in order to get. Yet we understand God’s principle still works. The more you sow, the more you will reap. And remember: You can’t out-give God. Whenever you give to God, He always repays and blesses you even more in return. So keep your expectation and faith level high. God’s blessing is on the way!
