Week 3 | Thursday - God of Miracles
He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.
JOB 5:9, NIV
Preparing for a miracle begins with what you believe about God. The pages of the Bible are filled with stories of God’s miraculous power. But sometimes it’s easy to think of those Bible stories simply as “stories”— something that happened a long time ago. We wonder if God does miracles today.
This same doubt existed during Jesus’ earthly ministry. Matthew 13:58 tells us that the people from Jesus’ own hometown took offense with Him and that “he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief” (CSB). Now, this verse doesn’t mean God is dependent on our faith in order to move. He is God, independent of us. Yet, we can’t ignore the connection between our faith and God’s miracles. The foundation for a miracle is the belief that God performs miracles.
Remember our key verse for the Beyond journey, Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think” (NASB). As a church, we are believing for God to do an incredible financial miracle on our behalf. But what about you, on a personal level? What need do you have in your life today? Is there something that seems impossible? Bring your need to God. Ask in faith. Believe that He will work on your behalf. You may find the God of miracles alive and well today!
